Heat is the constant. Pack light and shop locally — Thailand's night markets have everything at prices that make bringing extra clothes feel silly.
- ☐4–5 lightweight t-shirts (cotton or linen — synthetics trap heat and smell fast)
- ☐2–3 loose shorts or lightweight pants
- ☐1–2 longer pants or skirts (for temple visits and more conservative northern areas)

Tuk-tuk scam
If a driver says your destination is “closed today” — it's not. That's the oldest Bangkok hustle. Insist on your destination or use Grab (Thai Uber).
Island ATMs
Koh Tao and Koh Lanta have ATMs but with ugly fees. Bring enough Baht from the mainland ferry.
North vs South
Chiang Mai is genuinely cool and pleasant in December–February. Southern islands are hot year-round. Pack accordingly.
