Best Time to Visit Dubai: When to Go & When to Skip

22 °C in January vs. 46 °C in July — picking your month in Dubai is a survival strategy.

Dubai in winter is one of the world's great city breaks: warm, sunny, sparkling, and genuinely magical. Dubai in summer is one of the world's great arguments for air conditioning. The weather gap between January (22 °C) and July (45 °C) is so extreme that choosing the right month is less a suggestion and more a survival strategy.

Dubai Month by Month

JanuaryPeak season perfection: 20–24 °C days, 15–18 °C evenings. Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) runs through January with concerts, fireworks, and retail discounts across the city. Every outdoor attraction is fully enjoyable.

FebruaryStill excellent: 22–26 °C. Dubai Food Festival typically runs in February — pop-up restaurants, chef collaborations, and street food markets. One of the busiest months for tourism.

MarchTemperatures climb toward 28–32 °C. Outdoor activities remain very good. Ramadan timing (2026: approximately March 1–29) means restaurant hours shift, alcohol service is restricted in some venues during daylight — plan accordingly and respect the culture.

AprilGetting hot: 32–37 °C. Still manageable early in the month. School holiday tourism. After Eid al-Fitr celebrations, the city settles back to normal.

MayHeat builds: 38–42 °C midday. Outdoor activities shift to early morning or late evening. Mall and indoor experiences shine.

JuneSummer begins in earnest: 42–45 °C. Humidity from the Gulf makes it feel even hotter. Outdoor sightseeing only possible before 9 AM or after 8 PM.

JulyHottest month: 44–46 °C. A challenging time to visit for most Europeans. Ski Dubai, mall adventures, indoor water parks (Wild Wadi, Atlantis) work well. Hotels can be cheaper.

AugustSimilar to July. Regional Arab tourism peaks during school summer holidays. Some hotel deals emerge as European demand drops.

SeptemberHeat starts breaking very slowly: 40–44 °C. Not yet pleasant for outdoor activities but getting there.

OctoberMeaningful improvement: 32–38 °C. Outdoor activities become possible again. Prices still moderate. A decent value window before peak season prices kick in.

NovemberDubai Airshow (odd years, November) — a spectacular aerospace event at Dubai South. Temperatures drop to 26–32 °C. Beaches are back on the table. The city is waking up to its best season.

DecemberFull peak season: 20–26 °C. New Year's Eve at the Burj Khalifa is one of the most watched fireworks displays in the world. Prices at annual high. Book everything months in advance.

🏆 Best Months to Visit Dubai

November through February is Dubai's golden season — genuinely perfect weather for outdoor activities, desert safaris, beaches, and city exploring. October and March are strong shoulder months with good weather at lower prices.

⚠️ Months to Avoid

June through September: extreme heat (44–46 °C) makes outdoor Dubai essentially off-limits from mid-morning to sunset. If you go, commit to the air-conditioned indoor experience and expect to melt during any outdoor moments.
